Your first three laps
Drive the route cleanly
Use throttle, brake, and steering only. Learn where the corners arrive before adding a slide.
Add one initiation
Choose a wide corner, approach with room, and use a short handbrake input instead of holding it through the whole bend.
Repeat the same line
Keep the same car and map. Your goal is a predictable entry and exit, not maximum smoke.
Manual shifting without overload
Q shifts down and E shifts up according to the inspected controls guide. Learn steering and handbrake timing first, then add manual shifts only when you can repeat the same corner line.
This wiki does not publish a universal “best gear.” Cars and setups can react differently, and the current source set does not support a single gear recommendation.
If lag makes the car hard to place
The official experience description tells players to open the pause or in-game settings menu and disable performance settings when lagging. Lowering those effects can make input timing easier to read.

Common early mistakes
- Changing maps after every failed corner instead of learning one route.
- Holding the handbrake too long and losing the speed needed for the exit.
- Adding manual shifts before basic steering and throttle feel automatic.
- Changing several tuning settings at once, then not knowing which change mattered.
